To join a match, you need a minimum of 25 carefully shuffled cards, some of which are energy cards. At a time, you can only use 6 Pokémon including 1 Pokémon in the arena and the remaining 5 Pokémon sitting in the bench (Bench).
Cards that want to be fought must be of the Basic type, ie Pokémon that are still in their original form, have not been evolved or some special type of Pokémon. Of course, each Pokémon has its own skills and attributes depending on its card type and origin.
If you have a Primitive Pikachu (Basic) card and you own a RaichuStage 1 card, you can override that card on top of a Pikachu card to evolve into Raichu. The new Raichu will have the same skills and attributes as in the old Raichu card. Note that you can only upgrade in sequence, but cannot jump from Basic to Stage 2 or 3.
On the card, there are already recorded moves, including some information such as the name of the move, the amount of damage dealt and the number of energy cards to use. When it’s your turn, if you have enough mana cards you can cast that skill to attack your opponent. You can only add one energy card per turn, so you should use the skill wisely.
Furthermore, when you want to replace a Pokémon in the arena with another Pokémon, the game will require some energy cards. So good management of the number of energy cards is an important factor to win in Pokémon TCG Online.
Either player wins when your opponent runs out of cards to draw, or your opponent cannot replace a Pokémon in the arena with a Pokémon Bench, or when you defeat your opponent’s 6 Pokémon and win 6 Prize Cards.
What is the Trainer Card?
Besides the two common types of cards, Pokémon cards and energy cards, the Trainer card allows the player to fulfill some of the requirements listed on the card. For example, heal Pokémon, increase Pokémon strength, draw more cards, change cards, etc.
