A companion with Xehanort at Scala ad Caelum. This is the beginning, where you will be instructed on how to control, how to interact with NPCs to experience the story.
The area is gradually expanding. You meet new characters, recruit them to the team to experience the journey with more ups and downs!
The ups and downs here mean that you will face more enemies, with a full squad. Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road still has the same turn-based card gameplay as the other installments in the series. So when entering a fight, instead of using virtual buttons, you select cards to perform corresponding actions.
This factor shows that tactics account for an important part to decide the outcome of the match. A strong enemy is not really scary, if you have built a plan to resist his onslaught.
Like that, you adventure from one land to another, the elements will gradually appear. Until you realize what Dark Road means, you will have to fight many monsters and ultimate wizards.

So, before entering a fight, take a moment to check what attributes the enemy you are about to face has. Then equip the right Power Medals for an advantage.
