Players will play the role of girl Anne with the task of maintaining order in the magical world of Forgotton Realm. Her mission is to stop a rebellion that could prevent her, her friends, and her master, Bonku, from returning to the human world.

Like other games of the same genre, Forgotton Anne is well cared for with gameplay that focuses on scene elements, puzzles and answer choices to interact with other characters. In addition, the game has limited the appearance of interactive dialogue to lead the plot. Players are free to make their own decisions and this directly affects a few scenes immediately after, but it does not affect the final outcome. Therefore, players are not too pressured about their options.
