Legend has it that 1000 years before the wheel of fortune began to rotate, on the planet far from the origin of life appeared four crystals representing the four elements that make up the world. Thanks to the light from these four crystals, the planet has possessed a civilization that surpasses all other civilizations. But the more it is exploited, the more it restrains the energy, and these four crystals exude negative energy, which can swallow all worlds. And in order for that not to happen, man must find his own four opposite selves from the darkness.
Fate has chosen and placed this extraordinary responsibility in the hands of the Black War team, consisting of four teenage heroes, whose mission is to find the four crystals to bring back the darkness and bring the world back into balance. The four heroes finally found what they were looking for, but unfortunately it was too late. The entire brilliant civilization was engulfed in a terrible storm of light from the four crystals of light. And the prophets sadly announced that, many years from now, perhaps this tragedy would happen again, and wipe out all the progress that man would ever make again.
FINAL FANTASY III continues the story of 1000 years later. In the small village, there are four orphans, growing up together: Luneth, Arc, Refia and Ingus. They live carefree until one day they know they have a special identity, with great responsibility handed down from their ancestors. The battle for the four dark crystals begins once again. Will they succeed, at the right time, and dispel their obsession with an unbalanced world?
How is FINAL FANTASY III different from what I already know about role-playing games?
FINAL FANTASY III is a typical JRPG, with a team style and turn-based combat. Accompanying, of course, is the unchanging quality of the entire series: the heroic characters’ ability to summon powerful creatures, such as Shiva and Bahamut.
But the biggest difference that separates FINAL FANTASY III from the JRPGs you’ve ever seen is the extremely diverse and complex job system of the characters. That means you can switch between the roles of your team members, in any situation, to take advantage of each person’s strengths, weapons, equipment, accessories, and spells. For example, while in the Dragoon job, you will have the ability to Jump to disappear from the battle and suddenly reappear to deal a great blow to the opponent.
