Thus, the gameplay of Bloons TD 5 has two problems that you need to understand if you want to play better. Firstly, the weapons and monkey warriors are the main force defending the monkey kingdom, and you need the best types to enhance the performance of the battle.
Second, you need to pay attention to where you put the monkey warriors. The game’s map is limited in area, while the movement of the balls is fixed. You will have to place your warriors to save space, and cover the target’s moving area. In my opinion, you should place monkeys in positions that can attack more than one turn.
Build a better strategy
Tactics are at the core of tower defense games. And Bloons TD 5 places more emphasis on this factor when the levels are designed in rings. After each round, the amount of balloons becomes denser and moves faster. If your warriors are not properly arranged, they cannot fight at peak performance. And that leads to the balloons going through the defense, into the kingdom, causing you to fail.
I chose the easy level to experiment. At first, I arranged the weapons and monkey warriors right at the gate where the balloons started to move. They worked pretty well, and got me past lap 30 easily. But soon, I discovered some weaknesses of the dense arrangement of forces in one position. When a certain balloon breaks through this attack, they can enter without any obstruction.
Right after that, I rearranged my forces more evenly, across the entire map. The turning points are also arranged more densely, and this is a quite effective solution.
Of course, in addition to the above, you can create more optimal strategies, depending on the texture of the map, the nature of the balls and their path.
Weapons
There are quite a few types of weapons, from machine guns, cannons, missiles, bombers, to nail factories. Each of them brings different combat effects, based on rate of fire, coverage, to firepower. You need to choose the right weapon for the balls you are about to face. The system will give warnings about their properties in the next round, each time you complete the current round.
For example Black and White balls. When broken, they spawn four small balloons. At that time, the nail factory will be very useful, as they will throw the nails towards the moving path. The passing balls will explode.
In another case, I faced red balloons with amazingly fast movement speed. I think I should use weapons with fast fire rate, combined with weapons with high coverage to destroy them.
